Built on match-three puzzle mechanics, Disney Emoji Blitz tasks players with lighting up tiles colored with a wide array of Disney and Pixar characters. Swapping adjacent tiles provides an ability to form rows and/or columns of three or more identical emojis. Upon completion of an emoji match, the emojis are blasted from the board and newly influx emojis fill in the spaces above. Unlike traditional puzzle games, matchmaking is executed as quickly as possible with a time limit for each level. Players have a time limit to clear as many emojis as possible to earn rewards. With fast, engaging gameplay, players are tasked with clearing a variety of objectives in order to progress through the game and ultimately unlock more content.

This iteration of the game adds seasonal content for the month of October. With Player vs Player mode temporarily removed, two seasonal events focused on Halloween get thrust into the spotlight.
