Drake n Trap is a strategy and idle game where you must control squads to take down bosses. You have to clear multiple floors of enemy bases by utilizing your squads and joining conflicts controlled by simple commands. You draw the sequence of commands to control your squad by placing an arrow over your character. You have a limited amount of time to defeat a boss. The game uses a deck building system that lets you create a play style and strategies using multiple different squads. There are hundreds of levels that are going to take a lot of time to complete while the game gets harder and harder.

The Drake is one of the major elements that make up the combat system. There are three parts to the Drake that the player controls: Burst for damage, Recovery for healing, and Protection to mitigate damage. The biggest part of the strategy for each player is placing the Drake and choosing which part of the Drake to activate. The field must be read to determine where the damage will have the biggest and most positive effect on the field, and to decide when to put Drake up for healing and protection.

The progression system is structured using the Nurture/Growth framework, and is used to help the player’s party development and organization.
