With various portals open, the player has the ability to travel to different dimensions to collect Wishworlds and help restore the dimension to its original state. Many of the different Wishworlds go far beyond the limits of imagination, and allow for different environments and settings beyond the limits of the standard underwater settings of BikiniBottom. Some of these settings include the Stone Age and the Wild West.

This game challenges players to explore vast 3D environments using unique movement abilities and combat techniques. Players begin with relatively few abilities, but can locate and unlock numerous cosmic talents throughout the game. One of these talents is Fishhook Swing, which lets players swing and reach places they couldn’t before. Players can also use the Karate Kick talent to punch enemies and use it as a “teleport” ability to close distance to faraway places. Other movement techniques at a player’s disposal include gliding, bashing, and jumping. The emphasis on moving through the game’s environments quickly and easily allows players to learn and utilize various movement techniques to successfully locate and conquer many puzzles placed throughout the environments.
