The main draw of the game is constructing a diverse squad of champions from the many factions. Each of the unique heroes features a set of elemental powers and abilities. To create a well-balanced squad that can cover a variety of combat situations, players need to properly manage their heroes. It is possible to customize champions to empower them for the many tactical challenges that lie ahead. Champions can also evolve and earn rare equipment, like weapons, armor, and artifacts. Rare equipment and legendary loot can be obtained by clearing dungeons or winning PvP arena matches. The many collectible champions and equipment become part of a player’s kingdom, which can be organized, displayed, and sold as seen fit. These locations are the main source of the games precious artifacts and materials needed for upgrading heroes and equipment. Big boss raids require players to coordinate their heroes and work together to defeat the raid boss and take on some of the biggest challenges within the game.

Outside of conventional combat, there are systems which allow the player to progress without direct input, such as an idle progression system, as well as rewarding the player for playtime outside of the game.
