Telltale Games, one of the most well-known game development studios in the United States, is hard at work on the second episode of the episodic adventure game Minecraft: Story Mode. The game is distinct from the developer’s previous works because it was developed in collaboration with the Swedish Mojang AB company, the developers of the incredibly successful video game Minecraft; the storyline of Telltale’s upcoming title will take place in the same world as that of the well-known work of art.
It has only been a few years since the first playable version of Minecraft was released, yet in that short amount of time, Minecraft has grown into a true phenomenon of mass culture, bringing together dozens upon thousands of enthusiasts. The game itself won a number of accolades and was an extraordinary financial success for its designers; yet, it did not have even a symbolic plot. In spite of this fact, the primary hero Steve, Herobrine, or the Enderman are well-known to practically all players. The objective of the Telltale Games company was not to write the canonical tale of Steve or to provide an explanation for the many of facets that comprise Minecraft. They have decided to make a fully standalone project, which will have new protagonists and a brand new tale.
