The combat system for SaGa Frontier Remaster uses a combination of 2D sprites and 3D backgrounds. Real-time battles occur in a turn-based system until a winner is decided. Strategy is key as players will have to decide at what advantage they use equipped weapons and magic skills. The game offers a variety of magic skills for players to use against the enemies that roam the field. While normal weapons and equipment are available for purchase and use, players have the ability to collect divine weapons with special functions that help complete specific goals.
