Swordigo is an RPG and platform game where the player journeys to find a way against the Corrupters along with a young swordsman. JOURNEY AGAINST THE CORRUPTORS
The story the player experiences in Swordigo revolves around a story of a swordsman, and it begins after he has experienced a strange dream. Soon after, he learned that his teacher was strangely missing, and he immediately set out to find him. After crossing the forest, unfortunately, his teacher is dead, and when the protagonist approaches his teacher, he finds a piece of paper. In the note, the teacher mentioned an evil entity called Corruptors.
The teacher left important information to his students that the Corruptors had returned, and after the main character left, a black monster appeared. Its power surpassed him and delivered an attack that knocked him unconscious. After being treated by a doctor, he also learns a mighty magic sword called the Mageblade. It can be seen as the only solution that can defeat these Corruptors, and he sets out to find this mighty sword.
EXPLORE THE WORLD AND FIGHT ENEMIES IN THE GAME
Players will find a mix of RPG and platform gameplay of Swordigo as they move inside the 2D level and face off against various enemies. You will be given a weapon in the game and spend time exploring the environments in the game. At the same time, you can also destroy some objects, and if you are lucky, you can pick up shards, which are considered the main currency in the game. In addition, you will also find specific guides as you explore.
As you go through multiple areas, you’ll get character controls that tell you how to handle obstacles or terrain in front of you. They often appear as signs with question marks, and as you get closer, some information will appear corresponding to the obstacle ahead. At the same time, besides challenging the terrain, you also face different enemies, and they have attacks that you can recognize the rules of.
DEFEAT ENEMIES AND GAIN EXPERIENCE
When facing enemies in Swordigo, you will need to be careful with enemies higher than you in level or have hard armor because there are often ways to take them down. You can look at how they work and recognize the pattern in the attack to take advantage of opportunities and attacks. For example, you will find a turtle that shoots a circular orb, and you can attack this to make it fly backward. From there, that monster will take damage instead of you continuously attacking with a normal attack.
There will be many different types of enemies that you can face, and the reward for defeating them is that you get an amount of experience and shards to buy things you find necessary. When you level up, you will be given the option to increase one of three factors: health, physical attack, and magic attack. At the same time, the shards will help you equip yourself with powerful weapons to confront stronger enemies, and some of them bring some unique and valuable effects.
