Tokyo 7th Sisters, known as Tokyo 7th, is a game developed by Donuts Co. Ltd. for release on mobile devices back in February 2014. Donuts Co. Ltd. is unique in their two business ventures that are equally as donut-related as they are in the digital entertainment space. The game is set in a future where there was a significant fall in the idol market. This fall occurred in the year 2032 and marked the end of the 7th Sisters idol group’s successful run. Two years after this industry-wide closure, the player meets a young employee of the 777 studio in Tokyo (also pronounced Three Seven or Nanastar) and idol studio. This player character takes the role of studio manager to set up the studio to pursue a goal that many have thought is futile and should be left alone; to revive an industry that was left for dead.

Skepticism toward idols and worship in the real world and in-game has largely grown over the years. The manager at Nanastar is told that it is finally time to move forward with what they have been waiting for. The belief is that if the old gods of the industry have vanished, then the perfect solution is to make new idols. The people recruited to the studio are called Sisters, and the term indicates a strong sense of belonging to one’s group or family. The ultimate premise is to make these Nanastar Sisters idols for the future to worship and tell their stories. It is the manager’s job to support and help the performers strive to restore the cultural influence that was lost when the 7th Sisters disbanded. This means also helping the 777 studio regain its reputation and proving that even after such a prolonged hiatus, the idol industry can still be viable.

Ltd. hasn’t shared any information regarding the Elle Abadie franchise getting an anime adaptation or even developing an English version of the app to have the franchise available in other locations.
