Gear can be upgraded into weapons that can deal boss damage.Each match begins with players choosing upgrades to create a build towards a specific end game strategy. Healing is exceptionally important given the one shot one kill nature of the game. If the player dies, they must start the game over.

The game can have hundreds of zombies on screen at a time, making pressure build constantly.
